Dj / produducer of Barcelona and founder of ETERbcn Julian Garcia, better known as KNIK, started in 2012 making his first sets, and in 2013 he got full with the musical production, he made with a drum machine and a pair of synthesizers a Monophonic (MicroBrute) and a Poliphonic (Blofeld) ). Today he has signed his first LP for Asphixia Records and is constantly growing, focusing on Techno, Acid and Electro IBM. KNIK crafts a sound that inhabits the darker, more introspective corners of the techno spectrum, where atmosphere reigns supreme and rhythm is a force of hypnotic propulsion. His production is meticulous, yet organic — layering textures that feel both synthetic and eerily sentient. In “Esoteric Feline 01,” KNIK sculpts a sonic environment that pulses with restrained energy, driven by a deep, mechanical kick and cloaked in swirling ambient pads that evoke a sense of lurking mystique. There’s a deliberate tension in his pacing, as if the track is constantly breathing, tightening and releasing with each bar. Percussive elements are crisp but never intrusive, subtly shifting across the stereo field to create a sensation of spatial depth. KNIK doesn’t rely on bombast — instead, he pulls listeners into a meditative state, where the groove is almost subliminal and the emotion emerges in slow waves. His techno isn’t just for the dancefloor; it’s an immersive experience, cinematic in scope and deeply rooted in sonic storytelling.
